"Thy word have I hid in my
heart that I might not sin against Thee."
~Psalms 119:11~

Do you read the Bible every day?

Do you keep telling yourself that you really need to start reading the Bible again?
If you don't then maybe you need to get started. Here is a good way to do that:
Start your day with a Psalm!
Psalms are actually "SONGS"!!! You can't hide it in your
heart if you are not reading it. So remember to start each day with a Psalm.

What is a Psalm?

Here is what the dictionary says about the "PSALMS":

Main Entry: psalm

psealm, from
Late Latin
psalmus, from Greek psalmos, literally,
twanging of a harp, from
psallein to pluck, play a stringed
instrument

: a sacred song or poem used in worship;
especially : one
of the biblical hymns collected in the Book of Psalms

Do you ever feel overwhelmed?
Sometimes things can be so overwhelming you just can't
even think about what to do next. When that happens the
best thing to do is to grab your
Bible and start reading
out loud. Always remember that the Lord is in control and
all you have to do is TRUST in HIM. Here is a passage
that you can print out and put where you will see it.

Psalm 147

1: Praise ye the LORD: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for
it is pleasant; and praise is comely.
2: The LORD doth build up Jerusalem: he gathereth together the
outcasts of Israel.
3: He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.
4: He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their
names.
5: Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.
6:
The LORD lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the
ground.
7: Sing unto the LORD with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto
our God:
8: Who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the
earth, who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains.
9: He giveth to the beast his food, and to the young ravens which cry.
10: He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not
pleasure in the legs of a man.
11: The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that
hope in his mercy.
12: Praise the LORD, O Jerusalem; praise thy God, O Zion.
13: For he hath strengthened the bars of thy gates; he hath blessed
thy children within thee.
14: He maketh peace in thy borders, and filleth thee with the finest of
the wheat.
15:
He sendeth forth his commandment upon earth: his word runneth
very swiftly.
16: He giveth snow like wool: he scattereth the hoarfrost like ashes.
17: He casteth forth his ice like morsels: who can stand before his
cold?
18: He sendeth out his word, and melteth them: he causeth his wind to
blow, and the waters flow.
19: He sheweth his word unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments
unto Israel.
20: He hath not dealt so with any nation: and as for his judgments,
they have not known them. Praise ye the LORD.

The Psalm above shows us the importance of
the Word of God and His Providence.

If you remember to look from space to earth our problems are not so overwhelming
anymore. What seems huge and insurmountable is really small in the perspective of the
whole universe. The Lord is aware of everything in our lives. Every detail no
matter how small.

We need to be reading the Bible daily but we can be confused and overwhelmed about
where to start. Of course, it is more important that we do read the Bible, then where
we start. So where you begin isn't that important. The Lord would rather see you reading
from the middle then not reading the Bible at all.

My mom suggested that you might want to also add one Proverb a day to your Psalm. There
are 31 Proverbs which gives you one a day for the month. You can also read more then one
Psalm a day too. But the most important thing is that you are reading the Word of God.

So let's get started! Links for each month are further down the page!
