God is Great..... God is Good
Let us Thank Him for our food.

Thank you for the world so sweet,
Thank you for the food we eat,
Thank you for the birds that sing,
Thank you, God, for everything.

Come, Lord Jesus, be our guest,
And may our meal by you be blest.
~Martin Luther (1483 - 1546)~

Oh....... the Lord is good to me and so I thank the Lord
for giving me the things I need
the sun and the rain and the apple tree
the Lord is good to me.

Thanksgiving Day comes, by statute, once a year; to the honest man
it comes as frequently
as the heart of gratitude will allow,
which may mean every day, or at least seven days.
~Edward Sanford Martin~

A Grace for Every Day
Lord, you know what we need even before we ask you,
and you give us each day our daily bread.
Help us to eat it with grateful hearts.

Cornucopia
(from Latin, cornu copiae, meaning horn of
plenty), goat's curved horn brimming over with fruit and
ears of grain; motif in art and architecture; since
ancient times a symbol of abundance.

How about something to warm you up from the inside out?

Hot Mulled Cider

1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 quarts cider
1 teaspoon whole allspice
1 teaspoon whole cloves
3 inches stick cinnamon
Dash nutmeg

Combine brown sugar, salt, and cider. Tie spices in small piece of cheesecloth;
add. Simmer, covered, 20 minutes. Remove spices. Serve hot with twist of orange
peel; use cinnamon sticks as muddlers. Makes 10 servings.

This recipe is taken from the "Better Homes & Gardens - New Cook Book"
Copyright 1953. It was my moms cookbook and she gave it to me.

Count your blessings name them one by one
Count your blessings see what God has done
Count your blessing name them one by one
Then it will surprise you what the Lord has done.
~a lovely song I remember from childhood~

Sharing

is another way to show you are thankful to the Lord for the wonderful people He has
placed in your life.

"Verily I say unto you Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these
my brethren, ye have done it unto me."

"For the Christian, Thanksgiving is not an annual holiday, it is a
lifestyle. A spirit of thankfulness marks the person who truly loves
Jesus Christ. Gratitude for His great sacrifice for us motivates
our obedience, checks our sinfulness, and fans into flame
our love and devotion to Him."
~From Family Celebrations Meeting Christ in Your Holidays and Special Occasions
by Ann Hibbard~
