"My
beloved spake, and said unto me, Rise up, my love, my fair one,
and come away.
For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over [and] gone; The
flowers appear on
the earth; the time of the singing [of birds] is come, and
the voice of the turtle-dove is heard in our land;"
~Song of Solomon 2:10-12~

ROSES:
The "Rose" is Mentioned in the Scriptures:
"I [am] the rose of Sharon, [and] the lily of the valleys."
~Song of Solomon 2:1~"The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad
for them; and the desert shall rejoice,
and blossom as the rose."
~Isaiah 35:1~
"A Rose is one of the most beautiful of all flowers. It is a symbol of fragrance and of loveliness. By far, it is one of the loveliest wild flowers of the country roadsides. Many people cultivate and nurture the rose in their gardens. A flower, the rose grows on a bush usually with thorny stems. Combining lovely soft and delicate beauty with bothersome thorns that can prick your fingers as you reach to touch the satiny soft bud. Roses come in shades of red, white, pink and yellow just to name a few. They usually fill the room or area with a beautiful fragrance that smells very sweet. People give roses to express love. A single simple rose can express what words are unable to explain." ~From the World Book Encyclopedia~
"Red as a Rose is She" ~Samuel Taylor Coleridge~"That which we call a rose by any other name
would smell as sweet."
~Shakespeare~

Most
flower arrangements are made of fresh flowers. However,
you can use dried flowers. Flowers suited to drying
include chrysanthemums, goldenrods, hydrangeas,
larkspurs, and pearly everlastings. You can dry any of
these flowers by hanging the blossoms head downward in a
dark, dry, well-ventilated room for about three weeks.
You can also dry various kinds of grasses and leaves in
this way and then add the specimens to the flower
arrangement. A dried floral arrangement that is prepared
in late summer or fall should last through the winter.
